Read Easy Fenland offer free one-to-one confidential coaching for adults who would like to learn to read or improve their reading. There's also the opportunity to become a coach to teach adults to learn to read.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Learning to read helps increase confidence and builds a sense of understanding.
  • Reading helps with the day-to-day navigation of life.
  • Learning to read can give a sense of accomplishment and build self esteem.

What to expect

Upon contacting Read Easy Fenland, new and up-skilling readers will have a chat with a co-ordinator in order to assess their reading skills and match them with the right coach.

There are lots of interesting ways to get involved in a Read Easy group; possible roles include:

  • Reading Coaches
  • IT Supporters
  • Volunteer Recruiters
  • Coordinators

Reading coaching is free. No equipment needed. You will be provided with the books necessary to learn to read. Many of the sessions are held at local libraries across Fenland.

Being a coach is also free! No equipment needed; you will be provided with the books necessary to coach your readers. Coaches will be provided with online training.
