Wisbech and District Stroke Club

What to expect:

The group meet at the Crescent Room, upstairs on the 1^st floor in Wisbech Library. There is a lift that you can take, and toilets on this floor as well as the ground floor. Watch the video at the bottom of this page to see where to go.

If it’s your first time you will receive a warm welcome from the committee, and once settled with a seat and a tea or coffee you will be asked to read and agree to the club’s membership guidelines. The other members will be happy to introduce themselves.

The first half of the meetings tend to be either speakers or discussing a topic, or just a chance for people to converse with other members.

This friendly group welcomes any stroke survivor and their family / carers. It’s a very social group that provide a range of activities and society events, including meals out, theatre and other day trips.

They meet twice a month, the 2^nd and 4^th Friday of each month. On the 2^nd Friday they usually have a quiz. On the 4^th Friday of the month they have a fitness class lead by a personal trainer who is specialised in exercises for stroke survivors. The group welcome guest speakers to come and talk to the group.

The club currently has about 15 members, and it is a mix of both stroke survivors and their loved ones.

Once you have paid your yearly membership the sessions are free to attend.

Membership also covers cost of activities and day trips that the group may go on.

There is a small yearly membership fee. Please speak to the group to find up-to-date cost.
