Wisbech and District Stroke Club

What to expect:

The group meet in the Community Room at Wisbech Tescos. There is a lift and escalator's that you can take, and toilets on this floor.

If it’s your first time you will receive a warm welcome from the committee, and once settled with a seat and a tea or coffee you will be asked to read and agree to the club's membership guidelines. The other members will be happy to introduce themselves.

The first half of the meetings tend to be either speakers or discussing a topic, or just a chance for people to converse with other members.

This friendly group welcomes any stroke survivor and their family / carers. It’s a very social group that provide a range of activities and society events, including meals out, theatre and other day trips.

They meet twice a month, the 2^nd and 4^th Friday of each month. On the 2^nd Friday they usually have a quiz. On the 4^th Friday of the month they have a fitness class lead by a personal trainer who is specialised in exercises for stroke survivors. The group welcome guest speakers to come and talk to the group.

The club currently has about 15 members, and it is a mix of both stroke survivors and their loved ones.

Once you have paid your yearly membership the sessions are free to attend.

Membership also covers cost of activities and day trips that the group may go on.
