What to expect:
The community Pantry currently opens every Tuesday & Thursday between 1-2pm, and Sundays 5-6pm. They also do pop up pantry on Saturdays in either Turves, Thorney, Coates or Eastrea. Please check their Facebook page for up-to-date information on opening times and pop up pantries.
The Community Pantry is free to access and is open to anyone. The pantry stops food that is still good enough to be enjoyed going into landfill. Since opening in 2018 they have prevented 88 tonnes of perfectly edible food waste (and flowers) from going to landfill!
On arrival at the pantry you will que up until it is your turn. Once inside you will be greeted by one of the friendly volunteers, and you will then be able to select a number of items from what is available. This may differ from day to day. You may use the pantry every time it is open if you need to.
There is limited parking at the Falcon, so you may need to use street parking near by.
More information:
Helping Whittlesey began in 2018 with the creation of a Facebook page by Deborah and Anna in response to Whittlesey community needs – helping the local community to relieve hard times. Due to other commitments Deborah stepped down, leaving Anna to carry on the good work. They have now become a registered charity (Charity No. 1205448), opening a community pantry in September 2023, with future plans for a community food garden, a re-use and repair centre, and to provide related social support and education. It’s also a platform where they will continue to support local charities and share local news and events that may be beneficial to others.
If you need support you can contact them through the contact details on this page or visit their Facebook page and message Anna directly.

Christmas appeal
The Helping Whittlesey Christmas Appeal has been running for a few years, helping local families to reduce the financial pressure of Christmas.
They provided 172 presents to local children in 2024 and this number increases each year. This is done through the schools, food banks, youth groups, church groups and those they know through Helping Whittlesey.
Supporting Local Community groups
The pantry supports local youth groups weekly with refreshments and help local good causes and charities with food donations, enabling them to save money and fundraiser for their good causes.

The community pantry is free to access and open to call.
Other support offered by Helping Whittlesey is free of charge.
