Declutter Together is a free peer support group for people living with excess clutter. The group meets monthly online. It is a safe, friendly space where you can exchange ideas, tips and resources with others with experience of excess clutter or who consider themselves to hoard.
What to expect
Declutter Together is an informal, relaxed, non-judgemental group which is co-produced by its members. Group members have reflected that being part of the group has helped them to feel less lonely, increased their motivation to declutter, and given them helpful tips and advice which they have been able to put into practice.
The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 6.30 - 8pm. Each meeting starts with a check-in where people can share how they are feeling. This is followed by an open discussion about excess clutter and decluttering. This may include people sharing resources or hints and tips they have found useful in their own decluttering process. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion as much or as little as they are comfortable with - you are welcome to just listen if you prefer.
There is also a second Declutter Together 'Into Action' group which meets on the third Thursday of each month from 6.30 - 8pm online. This group offers a supportive space where people can set a small goal that they would like to work on in their home, and work on it while connected together with other members on video call. The session begins with everyone sharing their commitments with each other, then there is a period of 30-40 minutes where people work towards their goal. Group members stay on the call to chat with other members while doing so, and have shared that this makes it easier to stay on task and motivated. At the end of the session there is some time for members to chat and reflect on what they have achieved.
Both sessions are free to attend and run on a drop-in basis - there is no obligation to attend every session, just go along as often as you like. You are welcome to come along to one session to see what it is like, there is no pressure or commitment.
