Arthur Rank Hospice Charity

Back to Support

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end of life care.

What to expect

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports adults aged 18+ living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition in Cambridgeshire. End of life care is provided to patients in the In-Patient Unit at their hospice to the south of Cambridge. Alternatively there is a 'Hospice at Home' team for patients who wish to receive care in their own home. Referrals for care services need to be made through a GP, District Nurse, or other health or social care professional. It is not possible for patients to self-refer.

The Alan Hudson Day Centre in Wisbech offers free personalised care and support for individuals living with life-limiting illness across North Cambridgeshire and the Fens.

The charity also runs the Palliative Care Hub, a free 24/7 phone service for those with life limiting illnesses, their relatives, friends and all healthcare professionals. Dial 111 and select the 'Palliative and End of Life Care' option. You will be put in direct contact with dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialists who can give specialist advice and support and signpost and refer to other services.

The charity also offers practical and emotional support to patients, relatives and friends through their Patient and Family Support Team. This includes psychological support, social support, spiritual care, counselling and bereavement support. They also support those with life-limiting illnesses through their Living Well service, Lymphoedema service, and help for young adults who are transitioning into their care.

You can find out full information about all of the services listed above on the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity website.
