Alan Hudson Centre

Back to Support

The Alan Hudson Centre is an Arthur Rank Hospice Charity service. Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end of life care.

What to expect

The Alan Hudson Centre is an Arthur Rank Hospice Charity service. Whilst clinical care is delivered from the Centre at North Cambs Hospital in Wisbech, the service is supported by the business and administration framework of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports adults aged 18+ living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition in Cambridgeshire. End of life care is provided to patients in the In-Patient Unit at their hospice to the south of Cambridge, or at home with the Hospice at Home team. Referrals for care services need to be made through a GP, District Nurse, or other health or social care professional. It is not possible for patients to self-refer.

Services delivered by the Alan Hudson Centre are available free of charge to patients living with an advanced serious illness or life-limiting condition, and their families, in North Cambridgeshire and the Fens.

The charity also runs the Palliative Care Hub, a free 24/7 phone service, through 111, for those with life limiting illnesses, their relatives, friends and all healthcare professionals. The charity also offers practical and emotional support to patients, relatives and friends through their Patient and Family Support Team. They also support those with life-limiting illnesses through their Living Well service, Lymphoedema service, and help for young adults who are transitioning into their care.

You can find out full information about all of the services listed above on the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity website.
