Wisbech - The Spinney Adventure Playground

Back to Activities

The Spinney is an adventure playground in Wisbech which operates an open-access scheme, offering play provision for children from 8 - 13 years (inclusive). The Spinney is a fantastic space with lots of things to see and do, such as a zipwire, swings, sand pit and a huge slide.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • There is lots of open space and a sensory garden, as well as quiet areas for children that may need some time out.
  • There is lots of play equipment and lots of fun activities to keep children active.
  • On various days and times there are staff on hand to talk to for advice or information.

'The spinney represents my whole childhood.’ - Young person who attended The Spinney

‘Fantastic place to bring our disabled foster children, facilities are excellent, staff are so helpful.’ - Carer of attendee

‘Have been bringing my kids here for years. All the play equipment, the best park by far in the area, helpful and friendly staff.’ - Parent of attendee

What to Expect:

The park is staffed on certain days and times - see their website for latest information.

When staffed: children will need to sign in on arrival. Children have full access to the play ground outside, and are free to access activities that are happening in the barges such as arts and crafts.

Parents / guardians must complete and sign a membership form for all children and young people, so staff can be aware of any additional needs, emergency contacts and any allergies. Paper copies can be completed on arrival at the park.

If children are under 8 years old they need to be accompanied by a parent / carer or adult over 18 years old.

There are accessible toilets at the venue, which are only open during staffed hours. There are also first aid facilities during staffed hours.

When unstaffed: the outdoor areas of the park are open and free to be used. The car park, indoor spaces and toilets are not accessible during these times.
