Back to Activities

This Friendship Group is a volunteer lead group in Wisbech; people can enjoy a cuppa and also take part in games, reading, quizzes and laughter. It welcomes anyone over 60, however no one will be turned away.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • it’s a small friendly group where you can meet new people.
  • it’s an inclusive environment where you will be encouraged to join in.
  • it’s a positive and friendly atmosphere lead by friendly volunteers.

‘I like being here as we play games, have fun and it is enjoyable’ – Friendship Club attendee.

If you have never been, here is the view walking into the Parish Lounge:

What to expect

The friendship club runs on the first Thursday of every month from 10am – 12pm.  It is aimed for local people over the age of 60, however no one will be turned away.

It is currently held in the Parish Lounge. There’s no need to book, you can just turn up. However if you would like more information you can contact Wayne, who will be happy to chat to you.

On arrival you will be greeted by one of the friendly volunteers who will be happy to show you around.

You can take some time to relax and once you’re comfortable you can take part in any of the activities that may be going on, if you wish.

Refreshment such as teas, coffees and cake are available.
