Alright Mate? provides a chance for men to meet up and connect with other men, take part in activities such as walking football, card games or to just have space to chat to other like-minded men. It's open to all men over the age of 18.
This activity is good for wellbeing because

- there will be opportunities to do outdoor activities with other like-minded men
What to Expect:
People can expect a warm welcome and a cup of drink on arrival and throughout the session as appropriate based on the activity.
No need for a referral or booking, just turn up with yourself and another male friend (if you prefer). There will be a flag outside to reassure you that you are in the right place.
The sessions are run by two male facilitators and they will be wearing a hoody marked with the logo on so that they are easily identified. Please feel free to introduce yourselves to them so they know who to look out for.
There is parking nearby the entrance to the Rugby Club and it is a short walk from the main Horsefair in Wisbech. There are toilets on site for your comfort. The meetings take place on the ground floor of the Rugby Club and it is accessible for wheelchair users.
You won’t be asked to stand in front of anyone and talk if you don’t want to, this is an informal group and nobody will be put on the spot to speak aloud if they choose not to. If you enjoy the group and wish to contribute further there may be opportunities to volunteer as a facilitator.

Following a successful Men’s Health event in 2024, attendees said that they would like more activities and peer support from other men. Local social prescribers working with local charities and other organisations have supporting the setting up of this group.
The group is run by volunteers, all 9 volunteers have DBS checks and have undertaken basic mental health and group facilitation training with Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind. Alright Mate? will be looking for new facilitators and volunteers as time goes on.
