The March Society

Back to Activities

Promoting and preserving all that is the best in the built and natural environment of the fen market town of March.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • local membership organisations are a good way to meet like-minded people
  • looking after the built and natural environment feels good
  • learning about the history of a community can be interesting (and entertaining)!

More information

The March Society organises monthly meetings (held in March Library) to which speakers are invited to talk about subjects related to the past, present or future of March and the surrounding area. After the talk is an opportunity to meet other members over a cup of tea (and maybe a biscuit).

Other activities organised by the Society include walks around March to appreciate its history, architecture and natural environment and fun events like the annual Christmas quiz.

New members are always welcome – you can attend a monthly talk and join up on the spot. Details of forthcoming talks with dates/times are on the website and Facebook page.

The March Society would also be interested to hear from volunteers who might like to join its committee.

There is an annual membership fee for joining the Society.
