‘I highly recommend RKA Kickboxing Academy to anyone looking to get into a martial art or to improve mental or physical health.

Being part of RKA is so much more than just being part of a club. When you join RKA you are made to feel like a member of the family. I have never known another club where everyone is so inclusive and welcoming. The instructors are all fantastic, professional, knowledgeable and approachable. They will always go above and beyond to help their members reach their goals.

I cannot thank RKA enough for everything they have helped me to achieve so far, they are a huge asset to the area and I hope they continue to go from strength to strength.’ RKA Attendee

What to expect:

If you would like to join one of their sessions you can sign up online. This is so you can fill in the registration form which gives you temporary insurance whilst attending your taster sessions. However, if you have not booked online, once at the club you can complete a short registration with a member of the team.

On entry you will be greeted by one of the team at RKA, and after you have taken your shoes off you will be shown around the gym and supported to register if you have not already online.

Stuart who leads runs the academy is friendly, approachable and very talkative. It is very clear that kickboxing is his passion in life and he has vast experience of training and fighting around the world. He takes a fair and firm approach to behaviour at the gym in order to keep people safe and to ensure that the club is inclusive and welcoming to all members. If you have questions, queries or concerns then Stuart will happily talk to you and answer any questions.

The building is on the ground floor and there are toilets available. There is free parking available outside of the Academy.

More information:

RKA Kickboxing Academy was formed by their CEO Stuart and Chief Instructor Paige. After a long time of teaching they wanted to bring their own individual style of sport kickboxing to their home town and along with Senior Instructor Paul, RKA bring you a range of dedicated classes, from their juniors only (ages 3 to 14), to their popular family class where all the family can train together and enjoy getting fit together, and dedicated ladies only and adults only and advanced classes.

Classes include those aimed at beginners, over 50’s, for those wishing to take part in mixed martial art classes, as well as circuit-style fitness classes.

For those wanting to be more competitive and take part in the competition training they do have separately run sparring and competition training. Please speak to Stuart about full details.

Juniors can sign up to 3 free sessions.

Adults receive 2 free classes.

Once you have attended your free taster sessions, you can decide to sign up to become a member, for which there is a monthly charge. Please check the RKA website for up-to-date pricing.
