Volunteering with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) gives you the opportunity to support your local NHS services to enhance CPFT’s ability to go above and beyond for the people it serves.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- Volunteering at CPFT allows you to support the people receiving services as well as the teams that provide those services.
- Volunteering allows you to gain confidence and meet new people.
- Volunteering within CPFT allows you to be part of a community.
‘Volunteering at CPFT gave me the confidence and skills to go on and seek employment within the NHS.’

What to expect?
There are many different kinds of volunteer roles, both face-to-face and remote (online or over the phone), including:
Pets as Therapy: register your dog to bring on visits to wards – see Isla enjoying her visit above!
Drivers: deliver health and care equipment and supplies to people in the community.
Heart & Soul Coffee Club: help serve tea, sit and have a chat with others who come for a social visit.
Dementia Carers’ Support: befriend the people who care for loved ones with dementia (currently via phone calls).
Surveys: help with phone surveys (call people and enter responses) to help improve services. You could also be involved in developing a service improvement plan from this if interested.

There are many other opportunities that come up, or you might have your own ideas about how you can contribute – get in touch to find out more or take a look at current volunteer vacancies here.
Meet the Team
‘I have always aspired to support, guide and nurture others. I enjoy advocating for Volunteers and I ensure that every decision made is made with the Volunteers, Service User and Carers best interest. I continue to make a commitment to Volunteering and this gives me nothing more than complete satisfaction!’
Louisa Bullivant – Voluntary Services Manager
‘I started my journey with CPFT as an apprentice studying Business Administration, since then I have worked my way up to being a senior administrator, I really enjoy keeping things organised and “spit spot” for the team. We can’t wait to meet you and to encourage you in your own journey of fulfilment and development.’
