Nene Art School is a non-profit organisation providing weekly after-school/out-of-school sessions for young people 8-18 years old to come along for a health and wellbeing boost whilst enjoying drawing, painting, and graphic design.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • learning is great for keep children's minds active, encouraging expressions and creativity;
  • art can be a mindful activity which helps builds concentration;
  • art classes give children a chance to talk and make friends with other children and young people.

What to Expect:

Children from the age of 8 to 18 are welcome to attend these sessions.  Booking is required, so please book by contacting Jurgita by email or telephone.

Lessons are led by a professional, experienced teacher and artist, and last for two hours. Sessions are designed both for beginners and advanced students.

The sessions run during school half term as well as during terms.

Whilst having various activities to choose from in the session, young people will enjoy warm food and hot drinks or other refreshments.

Disposable aprons are provided, however it's best for your children to wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty as some of the activities can be messy.

There is parking in a variety of places around Wisbech Park. Wisbech Pavilion is fully accessible and has toilets.

The Nene Art School is a Community Interest Company (C.I.C.) founded by Jurgita Kapsiene. It focuses on young peoples' health and wellbeing by unlocking creativity and self-expression through learning as well as from an 'eco art-making' perspective. The aim is to become sustainable, ecologically-friendly artists, embracing natural development and empowering wellbeing.

They ensure sessions are delivered in a professional and holistic environment. The volunteers embody a kind and caring approach, with a deep understanding of how to support children from diverse abilities, backgrounds, religions, and more. They work closely with migrant communities, and also support special needs students. The team ensures that everyone’s needs are met here, by providing individual support to everyone who needs it. They are an inclusive community interest company!

All staff and volunteers are DBS checked and the group have a range of safeguarding policies in place.

The sessions have a cost per session and are paid in 4-month blocks. They accept split payments for any parents facing financial difficulties, talk to them about arrangements.
