Little Treasures

Back to Activities

Little Treasures is a stay and play Toddler Group for under 5s that meet in Whittlesey during term time. As well as these weekly activity sessions, the group also takes part in a variety of other events, trips and activities.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Children and adults can socialise and make new friends
  • It provides opportunities for children to get creative with weekly craft activities
  • Each week they finish with singing

‘I have been coming to Little Treasures for many years, all 3 of my children have enjoyed attending and it was a great place for me to meet childminders when I first attended as the group is run by Whittlesey and District Childminding Group (You can find them on Facebook). The added benefit of the outdoor space and the large outdoors play toys when the weather is a bit warmer and the grass dry is something you can’t get anywhere else in Whittlesey, its been a great group and sadly I’ll miss it when my youngest starts school in September.’ – Little Treasures attendee

Take a look at one of Mel’s online sessions:

What to expect:

There is no need to book and the venue is wheelchair friendly, with disabled toilets and baby changing facilities.

There is plenty of free parking on site or the venue is a short 2 minute walk from the bus stop on Broad Street or 5 minutes from Whittlesey Bus Station.

Entry is via the blue Fire Exit towards the rear of the building, just bang loudly and someone will let you in.

The group is volunteer lead. Mel, one of the organiser,s is a qualified Makaton tutor so the singing time is often a sing and sign session.

More information

Little Treasures, formally known as Tot Stop, has been run by Whittlesey and District Childminding Group (WDCG) for more than 20 years. WDCG is a not for profit charitable organisation run voluntarily by a few local childminders.

WDCG also provide and promote, through Little Treasure,s a variety of other opportunities during school holidays when Little Treasures is not in operation. These include subsidised visits to Busy Bodies soft play at The Manor, their annual Christmas party which includes a visit from Santa with a present and during the long summer holidays they also offer their annual Summer Events Program which includes our extremely popular trip to Twin Lakes Theme Park. When there has been interest they have also taken coach trips to Hunstanton, providing the opportunity for people to benefit from discounted group prices to The Sea Life Centre and other locations. They have also arranged Stay and Play sessions at St. Andrews Parish Hall and arranged play dates at local parks and Teddy Bear picnic to mention just a few of the activities over the years.

In the summer the group benefit from a large outdoor walled garden for the children to enjoy more physical activities (the only local toddler group that has access to an outdoor area).

Adults are free to attend, and the craft activities and refreshments are provided for free in return for your child’s entry fee.

Your fee is charged as a contribution to the hire of the hall, without which unfortunately the group after more than 20 years would not be able to continue.
