Meet Gloria from Glofit and 50fit:

What to expect?

Gloria knows that first classes can feel daunting and will try to help everyone feel welcome and relaxed. Of course you may feel out of sync in the beginning but it’s fine, we all had a first time, and some days we still do. We just smile and come along again. Practice makes progression.

Gloria has some small hand weights and resistance bands which are sometimes used in class, but you’re welcome to bring your own. It’s best if you bring your own mat but Gloria can loan you one if needed.

For barre, chairs are used for balance, and wearing yoga socks is recommended for grip and protection.

If you need to sit down during the session you go ahead and do that take your time, you can always clap along.

The classes are for everyone but if you have a medical condition please check with your GP first.

More information

Gloria has been teaching fitness for 11 years but has always had a love of exercise and dance.

Barre: Is based on dance moves using a barre/chair and light resistance. It is Pilates combined with ballet poses for a full body workout. It is low impact and great for toning, posture and balance all important as we age.

Yoga: Is great to calm the mind, focus the thought and move the body. Gloria loves the strength and flexibility gained from yoga and will help focus on positioning and learning good technique.  Relaxation is often hard to get around during your daily life, so this class is perfect for taking time back for you. You don’t need to get your foot around your neck or anything but you do need to allow yourself to progress and relax into it. We are all different and that’s ok.

Gloria’s Barre and Breath combines both barre and yoga.

Rose and Pose Retreat – a day workshop combining creativity and movement. Sculpting a rose from paper is a cathartic exercise in art, with conversation alongside, plus an energising yoga session and gong relaxation session. The perfect combination that supports wellness and connection with self and others. Contact Gloria for dates of her next retreat.
