Fenland Youth Connect Project provides wellbeing hubs for young people aged 16-21 years across Fenland, offering wellbeing activities and support as well as a safe space for young people to socialise, connect and thrive.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- the hubs are safe, relaxed places for young people to try new things, learn new skills, and just enjoy a relaxed environment;
- art is a great way to unwind, relax and learn something new. Engaging with art can reduce stress and improve immune responses;
- Pilates helps you build strength, stability and balance. It is a great exercise for beginners and can be tailored to any fitness level.

What to expect
Fenland Youth Connect deliver fun activities such as arts or Pilates for young people to increase social connections and wellbeing. There is also a youth support worker on hand to meet with for information and help, if desired.
One hub is in Whittlesey, which is a wellbeing café-style session, from 5.30pm-7pm at the Hangout at 5 Market Square, in Whittlesey. This runs in partnership with the Phoenix Youth Provision. There is a games room, arts and crafts, and a chill-out space for those who just want to enjoy the refreshments and have a chat.
Another hub runs on a Monday night in Chatteris at the King Edward Centre, where they deliver a beginner-friendly Pilates class from 5.30pm-6.15pm, followed by a chat and refreshments space until 7pm. This is in Room 1 at the Centre and all equipment is provided, you just need to be wearing comfy clothes and give it a go. The Pilates class is delivered by Abi, a qualified Pilates instructor from the Freckled Club.
A third hub is being planned for the town of March.
