The Woolly Hub delivers free wool to people in Fenland that are elderly, isolated, housebound, or carers, who can knit or crochet, for them to make squares that the Hub collects and stitches together to make blankets for local hospitals. They also run a Craft Club.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- knitting and crochet are relaxing, mindful hobbies that also help to keep your mind sharp;
- it helps to combat isolation as the deliveries of wool are made in person and you are joining a crafting community;
- it helps to boost self-esteem and self worth as you are making a difference for patients at local hospitals and your blankets will be appreciated.

What to expect
The Woolly Hub wants to help older people who are housebound, isolated, and/or are unpaid carers, and who can knit or crochet, feel a sense of purpose as they use their skills to help others. The Hub collected donated wool and delivers it for free, and then they come back to collect squares that you have made out of it. They then stitch squares together to make blankets and donate these to local hospitals.
For those that aren't housebound, the Woolly Hub also run a Craft Club based at Fenland Camping and Caravan Park every Thursday 7-8.45pm. All are welcome - no experience needed. This club is also free, but donations towards refreshments are appreciated.

There are toilets on site for the Craft Club.
Carers/support people are welcome to join you.
