Fenland Breastfeeding Support

Back to Activities

These are free stay-and-play support groups, hosted by trained Breastfeeding Peer Supporters and NCT Birth & Beyond Community Supporters. Let your little one play whilst you chat with other parents and Peer Supporters. Peers offer information, support and a listening ear.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Free breastfeeding support is available to feeding parents and their partners
  • It’s a space for parents to meet and make friends
  • It’s an inclusive and friendly group

‘I have attended many bumps and babies sessions with both my daughters and found the peer support there really useful.’

More information

The groups are always free to attend and booking is not required.

There are spaces for babies to explore as well as areas set up for toddlers to play. Staff create a relaxed and friendly environment and the volunteer Peer Supporters offer a warm welcome. They also provide tea, coffee and biscuits for attendees.

The Breastfeeding Peer Supporters can support parents on their breastfeeding journeys, offering information, signposting, support, and a listening ear.

The Birth & Beyond Community Supporters can provide information on other local services as well as offer support and a listening ear.

These support groups are provided by NCT (National Childbirth Trust), who have lots of breastfeeding information and resources – visit their website to find out more.

Chill & Chat – with Breastfeeding Peer Supporters – runs weekly at the Barnardo’s Child and Family Centre in Whittlesey. Click here to find current days/times and other information.
