Crumb and Bass is a relaxed, music‑based group for babies and children under 5. With songs, sensory play, props, snacks and a welcoming space for adults to chat, it supports early learning while offering a friendly community for families
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- It allows mums, dads and other carers a chance to meet similar adults caring for little ones and have a chat
- Babies and children have the opportunity to run around and make friends of their own. There's no forced fun and children are free to join in as they wish- whether that's watching all the other children, or by toddling around the hall with the props we hand out for each song.
- It creates a space where you can spend some quality focused time with your child(ren) without the interruptions and pressures of daily life.
'This is best children's activity I've ever been to' - Crumb and Bass attendees

What to expect:
They ask thet participants arrive 5 minutes early so they can pay on arrival.
Each session lasts for an hour and is designed to be relaxed, friendly, and chatty. Adults are encouraged to talk to one another throughout — quiet is never required.
Drinks are available from the start, and attendees are welcome to help themselves whenever they like. Arriving around five minutes early helps everyone settle in so the session can begin on time.
It’s completely normal for children to take time to join in, especially if it’s their first visit. Children and adults are welcome to watch at first and participate as much or as little as they feel comfortable.
Sessions begin with familiar, well‑known songs to ease everyone in, accompanied by props that encourage interaction and play.
During the mid-session break, the lights are dimmed and sensory toys and lights are introduced for a calming sensory experience. Adults are offered homemade treats such as biscuits or cakes, while little ones can enjoy biscuits, rice cakes or wafers. This is the Crumb and Bass moment of the session.
After the break, the fun continues with more props, music, and a few simple games, ending with bubbles and a cheerful goodbye.

Approach & Benefits
The activities are designed to support early development, including speech and language skills, listening, sharing, early maths, and understanding the world.
Crumb and Bass aims to provide an informal, pressure‑free environment where children can participate on their own terms, helping them build confidence naturally.
While the children enjoy the activities, parents, grandparents and carers are encouraged to relax, chat, and build connections. The sessions provide a supportive community space — something that is often invaluable when raising young children.

There is a charge per session that can be paid via cash or card. Please arrive early to the session to pay on arrival.
