Blackfield Creatives

Back to Activities

Blackfield Creatives is a non-profit organisation based in Wisbech. They deliver art and creative projects across communities in the Fenland and West Norfolk area.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • It gives people an opportunity to learn new skills and develop self confidence
  • It can help to overcome social isolation by bringing people together from across the community
  • It can offer the community a chance to enjoy the arts within a familiar environment

Blackfield Creatives is lead by Tim and Jenny. They are not just passionate about arts and creativity, they are also passionate about the local community and have ran numerous projects to improve local spaces through art.

If you attend one of their projects you are sure of a warm welcome. You do not need any experience to take part in most of their activities.

If you want to keep up to date on their recent projects, please visit their Facebook page or click here.

Current projects include:

‘Art Takes A Seat’

Blackfield Creatives want to encourage the community to try new experiences within the local area, so they are delighted to be able to offer a new project for people of all ages to get involved in.

‘Art Takes A Seat’ is a creative project taking place in Wisbech Park this summer. They are inviting the local community to come along and join them to create artworks on the benches around the Bandstand. This will be a great way to meet new people, spend time outdoors in a beautiful Victorian park, and get creative, working with their lead artist.

The creative sessions in Wisbech Park for the ‘Art Takes A Seat’ are all free.

There is no need to book in advance, just come along on the day.

The sessions will run from 8th – 30th August 2023, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10:00am – 3:00pm.

These sessions will be paused if there is bad weather on the day.

This project is being delivered in partnership with Fenland District Council and has been funded by the UK Government.

Wisbech Gallery

Blackfield Creatives will manage the Gallery spaces in partnership with the Ferry Project, who own the building, to deliver exhibitions and workshops. Both teams recognise the benefits and value that the arts can bring to the community, both in terms of cultural experiences and improving health and wellbeing.

The Wisbech Gallery is located at 10A-14 South Brink, Wisbech, PE13 1JQ. There is a free car park directly behind the building, in Somers Road, and the Gallery is fully accessible.  Please check their Facebook page or website for opening times.

Many of their projects are free to attend.
