Birth & Beyond Community Support

Back to Activities

NCT's Birth & Beyond Community Support project supports women who are either pregnant or have a child up to the age of 2 and who live in and around Wisbech with the aim to increase social connections and reduce isolation as well as increasing self-confidence and self-esteem.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Birth and Beyond aims to reduce isolation and loneliness for mother and baby
  • Offers a platform to talk without judgement
  • Aims to increase self confidence and self esteem

“Having peer support has really helped with my confidence and getting me out of the house, especially in the early days. It’s thanks to her that we’re now going to regular groups. It’s so nice to have someone to talk to who is outside of the picture. I find it really helps me. She is amazing”

Whilst women can self-refer into the service, it can be difficult accessing services when in need. Our team works closely with health professionals across the sites to encourage them to refer mothers who may be at risk of social isolation.

Please complete the form if you would like to refer a mother or pregnant woman to NCT’s Birth and Beyond Community Supporters Team.
