Food banks, parcels, community fridges and more, where people can access urgently needed food and necessities. Many of these organisations can also help with other types of support, such as help with benefits, debt, and more. They also welcome donations and volunteer enquiries.

Wisbech And Ely Food Bank provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis.

For support please call the FREE National Citizens Advice Line 0808 2082138 (open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm). In addition to be being able to issue foodbank vouchers, they can provide information and advice on welfare benefits and debt issues.

A welcome community fridge based within the FACT Community Hub is open to the community so they can access food surplus to help to reduce food wastage. The fridge can be accessed FREE by anyone in the community, and anyone can give to or take food from the fridge. To check their opening times visit their facebook page.

Cambridgeshire Community reuse and recycle Network

Food4Good project can support with donated surplus, rejected or out of date food which is shared on a need not greed basis. Free at their March and Wisbech centre on a first come first serve basis. For more info click here.

Food4Good Social Supermarket is open to REMO and CCORRN members.

Initially created to help distribute food as an anti waste initiative as CCORN know from their our own lived experience of financial hardship the importance of being able to afford to feed your family while juggling the bills.

At the social supermarket you pay by volume eg fill a trolley for £10 or £5 if you have evidence of means tested benefits. Conditions apply. Food can not be resold or used for business.

Membership has a small fee per year. The membership form is only one page, name/address and agreeing to the fair pricing policy and terms & conditions.

Referral may also be made via schemes such as CLAS – Cambridgeshire Local Assistance Scheme, administrated by CHS or from an approved referral agent. To Access CLAS click here or call 08082 787807 (Freephone advice line).

Feed Fenland are a local group of volunteers that provide cooked meals to anyone in need.

They currently distribute cooked meals:

Monday 6:30 – 7:30pm Outside at March Community Centre

Monday to Friday 6 – 7pm Outside at the Queen Mary Centre.

The Rosmini Centre work with Fair share on their food redistribution scheme.  No voucher or referrals needed, you can just pop down at the following times.

Monday & Tuesday 12pm – 1pm Sandwiches only

Wednesday 12- 1pm Sandwich and a ready meal

Thursday 12 – 1pm Food bag

Friday 12-1pm ready meal

For Whittlesey:

Whittlesey Emergency Food Aid is currently located at the Manor Leisure Centre, Station Road, Whittlesey, the provide emergency food parcels for those in need. Monday’s and Fridays are by appointment only. To Find out when you can collect call 07375 143146. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you can walk in between 9am – 1pm.

People in Whittlesey can also contact Peterborough food banks.
